The First Step to Make Quitting Smoking Easier
In March 2015 The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre launched its #PROUD to be smoke free campaign with the commitment of becoming a smoke-free site by the end of the year. To help achieve this, we are now offering a smoking cessation service for our patients, visitors and staff thanks to a partnership with the Wirral Stop Smoking Service and the Wirral Livewell Progam.
Trained stop smoking advisors are available every Wednesday between 1pm – 5pm to offer support and advice to anyone who has made the decision to quit smoking.
In the 30 minute session the advisor will go through a support plan and talk through the alternative Nicotine Replacement Therapies (NRT) available – such as patches, inhalator, gum and lozenges. Following this, they will offer a weekly appointment to monitor progress and provide any additional support.
The will be no charge for the session but there will be a standard NHS prescription charge (per item) for NRT, it will be free if you don’t pay for prescriptions. There will be no charge for The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre patients.
